Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Happy Hour Club Co Pty Ltd (ACN 679 947 169) ("Happy Hour Club", "HHC", "we", "us" or "our") operates the Happy Hour Club website (happyhourclub.com.au) and the Happy Hour Club mobile and web application (together, the "Platform"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access, correct, or complain about the handling of your information. By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Policy applies to:

  • Members — people who sign up for a free Happy Hour Club membership;

  • Venue Partners — bars, restaurants and hospitality venues that list deals on the Platform;

  • Brand Partners — businesses that list a member perk on the Platform; and

  • Visitors — anyone browsing happyhourclub.com.au without an account.

2. What personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

From Members: full name, email address, date of birth, mobile phone number (optional), home suburb, profile photo/avatar (optional), favourite venues and preferences, wallet pass identifiers, device/push notification tokens, and a record of deal redemptions and app usage.

From Venue Partners: business name, ABN, contact name, email, phone, address, venue details, bank/payment details (processed by Stripe — see section 6), and content you upload (images, deal descriptions, venue story).

From Brand Partners: brand name, website, contact details, offer details, promotional codes, and payment details (processed by Stripe).

Automatically collected information: IP address, device type, browser type, general location (suburb-level, for showing nearby deals), and app usage analytics (pages viewed, features used, session length).

3. How we collect your information

We collect personal information directly from you when you:

  • Sign up for membership or complete your profile;

  • Apply to become a Venue Partner or Brand Partner;

  • Redeem a deal by presenting your digital membership card;

  • Contact us by email, form, or social media; or

  • Use the Platform generally (via cookies and analytics tools — see section 8).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from third parties except where you sign in using a third-party service, or where a Venue Partner provides us with contact details for their own staff for portal access.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage your membership, including issuing your digital membership card and Apple/Google Wallet pass;

  • Show you relevant venues, deals, and perks (including suburb-based personalisation);

  • Verify your membership when you redeem a deal at a partner venue;

  • Send you push notifications and emails about deals, streaks, events, and account updates (you can adjust these preferences in-app at any time);

  • Operate the streak, badge, and gamification features;

  • Process Venue Partner and Brand Partner subscription payments;

  • Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Platform; and

  • Comply with our legal obligations.

5. Direct marketing

We may send you marketing communications about Happy Hour Club, partner venues, and brand perks. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, by adjusting notification preferences in the app, or by contacting us at hello@happyhourclub.com.au. Opting out of marketing will not affect essential service communications (e.g. confirming your membership or a change to these terms).

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information with the following categories of third parties, only as needed to operate the Platform:

  • Venue Partners — limited redemption information (that a valid member redeemed a deal) so venues can track usage; venues do not receive your email or phone number unless you choose to provide it directly to them;

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores member, venue, and deal data;

  • Stripe — processes subscription payments for Venue Partners and Brand Partners; Stripe handles and stores payment card data, which we never see or store ourselves;

  • PassKit — generates and updates Apple Wallet and Google Wallet membership passes;

  • OneSignal — delivers push notifications;

  • Resend — sends transactional and marketing emails;

  • Mapbox — provides maps and location/directions features;

  • PostHog — provides in-app analytics to help us understand and improve the Platform; and

  • Professional advisers, regulators, or law enforcement, where required by law or to protect our rights.

Each of these providers is only permitted to use your information to provide their service to us, and is bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers listed above (including Supabase, Stripe, PassKit, OneSignal, Resend, Mapbox, and PostHog) may store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including relying on those providers' own compliance frameworks and contractual protections.

8. Cookies and analytics

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies (including via PostHog) to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect some Platform features.

9. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure, including access controls, encryption in transit, and restricting staff access to what is needed to perform their role. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and personal information at any time (see section 11).

11. Access, correction, and deletion

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or out of date, or ask us to delete your account and personal information. Most of this can be done directly in the app under your profile settings. For anything else, contact us at hello@happyhourclub.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.

12. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us at hello@happyhourclub.com.au with details of your complaint. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

13. Age requirements

Happy Hour Club membership relates to venues that serve alcohol. Membership is only available to individuals aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
